Lynn Lensmire Retires

Lynn Lensmire has taken a self described “10 year leave of absence” from her teaching duties at Dream Flight USA.  In addition to her expertise as a teacher, Lynn was instrumental in helping develop the hands-on work stations on board the Dream Flight USA shuttle.  Her retirement comes after two successful years of shuttle operations. 

Mrs. Lensmire was active in the original Dream Flight program while teaching in the Wausau School District.  After retiring from teaching, Lynn was persuaded to join the new Dream Flight USA program as its first teacher. 

Marie Traska, a veteran of several shuttle missions to schools in Wisconsin and Iowa, is now the main teacher on the Spirit of Education.  Sharon Ryan, the founder of Dream Flight USA, is a full time teacher in the Wausau School District and therefore does not teach on the shuttle during the school year.

Along with the thousands of students and teachers who benefited from her service over the past two years, we will certainly miss Lynn and her dedication Dream Flight USA.

Now Lynn and her husband John will be traveling throughout the country in their motor home.
